Rwanda rubbishes claims of supporting rebels in DR Congo
Rwanda maintains that RDF does not have any member with the names presented by the Congolese officials as capture Rwandan soldiers.

Rwandan officials denied any involvement or supporting rebels behind late night attacks on two positions of the neighboring DR Congo's Armed Forces (FARDC) in the North Kivu’s Rutshuru territory.
On Monday, the North Kivu Province officials alleged that the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) supported rebels' attacks on Tshanzu and Runyonyi military positions on March 28 with the province Governor Spokesman Gen Sylvain Ekenge claiming that two Rwandan soldiers were captured during the attacks.
In a video that circulated on social media Mr. Ekenge read out the names of allegedly captured Rwandan soldiers who were also paraded to the media.
"We would like to categorically refute the baseless accusations," said Rwanda western Province Governor Francois Habitegeko in a statement released Tuesday, adding that "RDF is not by any means involved in the belligerent activities across in the DRC."

Eastern DR Congo has of late seen a resurgence of attacks by an armed group believed to be ex-M23 rebels.
There have been reports of heavy fighting between the rebels and the Congolese army resulting in displacements of residents who cross into neighboring Uganda.
According to the statement by Rwandan officials, the names of the two individuals purported to be captured members of RDF during attacks were mentioned during the bilateral meeting of joint intelligence teams held in Kigali on February 25.
Rwanda says the joint intelligence teams were not allowed to interrogate the individuals for a joint assessment.
"This is an attempt to manipulate the opinion by presenting two individuals arrested under obscure circumstances more than a month ago as elements captured in the fighting on march 28," reads the statement.
Both Rwanda and DR Congo are members of the joint verification mechanism under the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR). Kigali argues that DRC should have activated the mechanism if they were acting in good faith.
